Research Article

The following excerpt is from the book, “Ritual Abuse What it is, Why it Happens and How to Help ” by Margaret Smith, available through HarperCollins/Publishers. All accusations are alleged. This may be triggering for survivors.

“Historically, certain secret societies and fraternal organizations were accused of practicing a violent, sexualized mass. Survivors in this group study also reported a relationship between perpetrator involvement in secret societies and the practice of ritual abuse. Sixty-seven percent of the survivors said their ritual abuse perpetrators were members of secret societies or fraternal organizations. Thirty-three percent said (alleged) perpetrating family members were Masons (bold is mine)… Since a number of survivors in this study reported their (alleged) perpetrators as Masons, this section describes Masonry in detail.” (Pages 137-138)

“The Masons are one of the most powerful and influential organizations in the world. A number of books have been written on the historical and present power of the Masons…. Howard, author of “The Occult Conspiracy”, notes that fifty of the fifty six signers of the Declaration of Independence were Masons. George Washington and John Adams were both high ranking Masons. “(Pg. 139)

The book also talks about Aleister Crowley, writer of numerous texts that helped popularize Satanism in the 20th Century. He was also a 33-degree Mason (my information).

A primary part of Masonry is the participation in dramatic “skits” or rituals that are supposed to connect members to a “higher” (my quotes) spiritual reality. For example, playing the part of an important historical or mythological figure during a ritual is supposed to connect the initiate to the spiritual significance of the legend or tale. In the book, “The Deadly Deception” author Jim Shaw, an ex-member of the Masons, describes initiation rites in which group members acted out skits.”

These rituals included drinking wine from a human skull, being hit with a 24-inch gauge in the throat, hosing people down with a rubber penis and a warning that if the Apprentice Oath is violated, the violators’ throat would be cut ear to ear.

This section of the book ends by describing how cults hide evidence and why the media rarely covers ritual abuse events. The book has excellent resource lists for further reading, especially in the footnote sections.

Reaching Out, 1296 E. Gibson Rd, #218, Woodland, Ca. 95776 is an excellent resource for those recovering from Ritual Abuse. It provides a newsletter and audiocasettes on important topics pertaining to ritual abuse. (This resource no longer exists.)

Thesis Article

The following information is from an abstract of the thesis of Ann-Marie Germain, “RITUAL ABUSE, ITS EFFECTS AND THE PROCESS OF RECOVERY USING SELF HELP METHODS AND RESOURCES, AND FOCUSING ON THE SPIRITUAL ASPECT OF DAMAGE AND RECOVERY” presented March 30, 1993 at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. Please note: all accusations are alleged.

WARNING – Some of the following material is graphic and may be triggering.

“If you know a Mason who truly regrets abusing children, as my father regretted what was done (allegedly) by the Masons …, please tell him my father’s story and ask if he wants to finish the penitence my father began.

My father was… a 32nd degree Mason and a Shriner (Mason above 29th degree – mine)… Most of the adult Conversations with my father took place during (1974 – 1977 – mine) ….

“Last year during medical treatment for inflammation of my right eye, a memory surfaced in which my abusers poked my eye and told me they had taken my eyeball out and would not put it back until I vowed lifelong obedience to the Penis God. I had seen eyeballs taken out and knew they meant it, so promised.

More recently, I have remembered being at the bottom of a grave and having dirt thrown on me.

“When I was interested in finding some kind of women’s organization to belong to I wondered if he knew how to contact the Eastern Stars.

ME (Ann-Marie) : Do you know if the wives of any of your friends at Shriners belong to the Eastern Stars ?

HIM (father) : No. Why ?

ME : I’d like to learn about them. I might want to join.

HIM : No ! Don’t go there. It’s not a good group. It’s dangerous for you to go there. (His serious, warning tone of voice, frightened me off. I sensed he really meant it but he wouldn’t tell me why.)

I believe that this memory implies he knew of women’s groups that (allegedly) abused me or at least colluded with the abuse I had suffered. They may possibly be connected to my flashback of the large bonfire in the wooded valley, or the one of the farmhouse with a huge sphinx for a door.

“ME : Daddy, did you see the newspaper article about plans to put up a big new building on the Masonic Temple property?

HIM : It’s the ____ Lodge, not Temple, Ann.

ME : Well, whatever it’s called. It doesn’t matter.

HIM : Yes, it does matter. I wanted us to move to ____ instead of ____ because there wasn’t any Temple here and it wasn’t likely there would be one. There weren’t enough Masons here with the money to build one. Now, I’m afraid they might build a Temple on the Lodge property. (said with seriousness and real fear)

ME : Why are you afraid of it ? I thought you’d be glad, why didn’t you want to move where there was a Temple ?

HIM : They do things in Temples that can’t be done in a lodge. (He looked away from me , out the window as he spoke, with a hard closed face.)

ME : What’s wrong with that? What kind of things?

HIM: I can’t tell you , Ann (exasperated with my probing) They do bad things and it’s all kept secret.

“Taking a dollar bill out of his wallet, he pointed to several of the symbols and told me they were Masonic symbols but he refused to tell me what they meant. He said that all of the men who had their pictures on various bills were Masons, and most of the presidents of the U.S. have been Masons. He said that these facts prove that Masons hold the reigns of “power” (quotes – mine) in the world, which was why he had been so surprised that Kennedy was elected president (Kennedy was the first non-Mason to be president – mine) (and then not so surprised that he was assassinated.)

“ME : What’s wrong, Daddy ?

HIM : I’m sorry, Ann. I’m really sorry. I didn’t know. I didn’t realize how much harm was being done.

ME : Sorry for what ?

HIM : You really don’t remember, do you

ME : Well, I don’t know what to say because I don’t know what you’re talking about….

Later.

HIM : I need you to forgive me….

ME : For what ?

HIM : (He paused, tears coming to his eyes.) I can’t tell you.”

In a letter to friends dated October 3, 1990, Ann-Marie describes a ritual disembowelment with chanting, robes and hoods, incense and torches. This surfaced during a co-counseling session.

Her thesis also contains other resources and ways of healing. I want to personally thank her for sending this information to us and allowing the newsletter to use it.

I agree with Ann-Marie when she says, ” Whether or not to choose goodness or evil is the crux of the matter, the core of personality development ” Let’s hope that someday all of us can choose good.

Ann-Marie also has a newsletter on Masonic Ritual Abuse called S 0 M A (Survivors of Masonic Abuse). (This newsletter is no longer published.) She also recommends a conference, “Cult and Ritual Abuse, Mind Control and Dissociation – A Multidisciplinary Dialogue. The address for information is The Society for the Investigation, Treatment and Prevention of Ritual and Cult Abuse, P 0 Box 835564, Richardson, TX. 75083-5564. Registrations can be faxed to 214-235-0529. The conference is in Richardson from March 23- 26, 1995.

Research Study

“Understanding Ritual Abuse” was a study done of 33 ritual abuse survivors, from 13 different states. It was written by Caren Cook and is available through the Ritual Abuse Project, 431 Auburn Blvd., Suite 215, Sacramento, Ca. 95841. (This address no longer works.)

On Page 19 of the study, survivors mentioned two primary organizations that their perpetrators belonged to, the Masons (27 %) and the Knights of Columbus (9 %). Other groups mentioned by survivors were the Rosicrucians, Eastern Star, the Shriners, etc. No question was asked in the study whether the organizations were directly involved in the abuse.

In addition to the study there are two page information sheets available for distribution (copies can be made). The study covers the topics of healing, memory, MPD (now DID -Dissociative Identity Disorder), specific abuse, validation and telling about the abuse, as well as other topics.

Research Article

David Carrico is the author of a variety of books and pamphlets that allege many connections between Freemasonry and Satanism. The pamphlets include : “Christian Worker’s Handbook, The Guide for Ministry to Masons ” by David and Donna Carrico, “Freemasonry”, the books include : “The Egyptian Masonic Satanic Connection ~ ”The Golden Dawn – A Graphic Expose” and ”The Pentagram, Freemasonry and the Goat”.

WARNING: This article may have triggering information in it, including graphic descriptions of rituals. Please take adequate precautions. All accusations are alleged.

The following information is from the book, “The Egyptian Masonic Satanic Connection”

” The book, “The Egyptian Masonic Satanic Connection” begins by showing how the mass murderer David Berkowitz ‘Son of Sam’ was allegedly a member of a Satanic cult strongly influenced by the writings of Eliphas Levi and Aleister Crowley, both high ranking Masons.

Nimrod, son of Noah, helped build the Tower of Babel. He is considered by the Masons as great because he tried to establish a “New World Order” and he was called the “first Grand Master.”

The Mystery Religion of the Masons was originated in Ancient Babylon. This religion included occult symbols, ritual symbols, occult paraphernalia and candles. Many of the days held sacred by the Mystery Religions, according to Albert Pike (a 33rd degree Mason), are the same ones used by the Satanists for modern rituals (according to Satanic calendars). Some of the God’s pictures taken from the Masonic History Book have Satanic or evil Biblical connections, including Ashtoreth, Dagon, Baal (children were sacrificed to Baal), and the Satanic Goat of Mendes.

In the “Oath of Nimrod” (1st degree), the revealing of any Masonic secrets is the loss of the revealer’s life. Several Masons discuss the connection between the mystery religions and the Masons. These religions included human sacrifice.

Freemason J. S. M. Ward claims that Freemasonry is a descendent of the Adonis cult. This cult allegedly had a custom of tying people to trees and castrating them and then sometimes stabbing them. This book was distributed by the Masonic Supply Company.

Aleister Crowley was a 33 degree Mason and is considered by some the father of Modern Satanism. He wanted to be called “The Beast 666”. He was expelled from Italy due to accusations of his disciples sacrificing human babies in occult rituals. Other rituals included sex with and the murder of animals. Crowley was a very high ranking Mason. Crowley’s followers today are members of O.T.O. – Ordo Templi Orientis. Crowley himself was recruited to O. T. O. by another Mason, Theodor Reuss.

Crowley wrote about Egyptian Gods and was introduced to the organization “Golden Dawn” by MacGregor Mathers, who was believed to be influenced by ancient Egyptian customs. Mason Manly P. Hall wrote a book called “Freemasonry of the Ancient Egyptians”. In “Freemasonry and the Egyptian Gods” by Freemason J.S.M. Ward, the story of Osiris includes mutilation, murder and necrophilia. Candidates for Master Mason (3rd degree) play the part of Hiram Abiff, are in a way playing the role of Osiris the Egyptian God. Manly Hall, 33 degree Mason considers the Egyptian “Book of the Dead” to be “dominated by a spirit of transcendental magic” (pg. 57). The Egyptian Book of the Dead includes rituals of drinking blood, cannibalism, torture, killing animals, dismemberment and ritual fires.

I want to thank David Carrico for his permission to use facts from his books in this newsletter. There are many other connections mentioned in his books and pamphlets that I did not have time to go into. In his book, “The Pentagram, Freemasonry and the Goat”, he alleges a connection between Masonic symbols and Satanism. Ritual Abuse survivors should be careful while reading these books. Many of the symbols may be triggering.

David and Donna Carrico are members of Followers of Jesus Christ and additional information on books, pamphlets and tapes can be gotten by writing, Followers of Jesus Christ, P O Box 4174, Evansville, IN 47724

Survivor Article

The following article was written by Neil Brick. A survivor of at least 18 years alleged Masonic Satanic Ritual Abuse. The following text was initially written for a book on Satanic Ritual Abuse. It was refused by the author of the compilation because Neil would not allow the removal of the word Mason from the article. This is part one of the article. Part two is in Issue #2 of S.M.A.R.T. Please note: all accusations are alleged. This may be triggering for survivors.

He believes that it is important to educate as many people as possible about alleged Masonic Satanic Ritual Abuse, to help save as many children and adults as possible from it. Evil can be stopped. And we all can heal from its effects. Permission to use part or the entire article can be gotten by writing to: P 0 Box 1295, Easthampton, MA 01027

I was born in a suburb outside of a large East Coast city. My parents are first generation Jews. Their parents came from Eastern Europe and allegedly brought with them a horrible psychological malady, Satanic Ritual Abuse.

I believe the Masons may be one of the largest perpetrators of alleged Satanic Ritual Abuse in the world. Their ties reach into the government (federal and local), as well as some of the largest economic institutions in this country. The female chapter is called “Eastern Star”. The Masons are extremely powerful in Europe and the United States and certain theories have tied them to the Illuminati, a group of people believed to control a majority of political and economic events in the Western world.

Some believe that the Masons were infiltrated by underground Satanic groups during the middle ages. The Satanic groups were created partially by the advent of Christianity in Europe, where local nature-based religions were no longer allowed to exist and those not practicing secretly were persecuted and often killed. Dark or Satanic groups were forced to practice in secret.

I was born into the Masons. I believe they are a cult so insidious that most people do not even know they are a member. I believe this is accomplished by the process of splitting the mind into different personalities, which is caused by alleged severe and repeated torture and brainwashing starting at infancy and sometimes before. This continues until age 6 and on into the teenage years. The result of this splitting usually causes Multiple Personality Disorder (now called Dissociative Identity Disorder).

I believe the splits between day and nighttime alters are caused by severe and repeated trauma at early ages. I allege infants are often starved, burned, sleep deprived, physically and psychologically abused and bombarded with constant stimuli such as flashing lights, loud noises and severe temperature changes.

During infancy, I believe I was also subjected to horrible tortures, pains, burnings and deprivations. These included beatings, enemas, near drownings, starvations, force feedings, being dropped and being screamed at, etc. This was done to set up a predisposition to MPD. At home, I allege I was also sexually abused, raped, nearly drowned, burned, force fed and terrorized.

S. M. A. R. T. is looking for additional articles about alleged Masonic abuse (including affiliated organizations) and ritual abuse. We are also looking for poetry, personal accounts and letters to publish in this newsletter. We are also looking for events and resources to list. If you have any questions or things you’d like to have published please send them with your signed written permission to: S M A R T, P 0 Box 1295, Easthampton, MA. 01027.

Good luck in your recovery process and/or your process of helping others heal.
