The purpose of this newsletter is to help stop secretive organizations and groups
from abusing others and to help those who allege they have been abused by such
organizations and groups.

This newsletter is not a substitute for other ways of recovering from ritual
abuse. Readers should use caution while reading this newsletter. If necessary,
make sure other support systems are available during and after reading this

Conference Information

The Third Annual Ritual Abuse, Secretive Organizations and Mind Control Conference will be held on August 5 and 6, 2000, S.M.A.R.T. will be holding a conference at the DoubleTree Hotel near Bradley International Airport (between Hartford, CT and Springfield, MA).

The purpose of the conference will be to help survivors heal and to help stop
future occurrences of the above.

People have told us that last year’s conference was the safest conference they
have ever been to. For the safety of all participants we try to exclude current
members of secret organizations, current perpetrators, and/or members of
unsympathetic organizations. We recommend always bringing a support person to all
conferences and staying with that person or another safe person at all times. For
survivors of mind control and/or ritual abuse, S.M.A.R.T. recommends that you try
to bring a support person that is familiar with mind control techniques. We also

Editor’s Page

This article may be triggering. Please use caution while reading.
I believe that it is sometimes normal for survivors to use certain trigger words
without thinking about it sometimes. Of course, certain words that might be
triggering for some people might not be triggering for others. It is also possible
to emphasize certain words in a sentence in a certain way, so that a different
message might be construed subliminally. Certain words might be repeated in a
sentence, to emphasize their effect. A person may start or finish their E-mail or
letter with a phrase meant consciously or subconsciously trigger or influence
someone. Certain words I have heard or realized may be triggering might include:

st*ff – to st*ff memories or feelings
h*ndle or h*ndl*ng – may connotate a person that pr*grams another
pr*gr*m – I think people know about this one.
sh*ck – may be used by those that had sh*ck treatment
b*ck – used in certain ways, meaning to “go b*ck” to the group
b*tt*flies or M*narch – may trigger government RA/MC survivors.
o*k – triggering for certain gov’t survivors.

Here’s a way a phrase could be used to possibly trigger some survivors:
“This is the st*ff I found in d*n*al. This st*ff pulled me b*ck to my d*nial.”

Notice that the words emphasized while reading the sentence are:
This, st*ff, found, d*nail, st*ff, b*ck, d*nial. The subconscious might construe
this to mean to st*ff memories, go into d*n*al, and go b*ck to the group. This is
only one interpretation of this.

Another thing that might happen is that a survivor will use an emotionally
upsetting or very confusing phrase at the end of their E-mail. Though the
information may be totally erroneous, it may register in the subliminal as true,
unless the reader is very aware of the technique being used.

I would be interested in hearing other’s ideas about this. I am always looking for
more information about how to protect people from MC.

December 27, 1992 – Holidays are over!

Gee, I’m glad the holidays are over. (All except for birthdays and
Anniversaries, etc.) I’m glad I survived another year. As a survivor of sexual
molestation and emotional abuse, the holidays are always much harder for people
like myself than normal people. You see, we are not “normal.” We don’t feel
“normal” and we have a problem acting “normal”, so we pretend! That is how we
survive. Down deep inside, we hurt. We hurt because we try so hard to be happy
like everyone else seems to be, but somehow, we just don’t really feel happy!

While others are enjoying preparing for the family get-togethers, we cringe when
others ask us, “are you going to spend the holidays with your family?” And when
we are forced to participate in the festivities, we pretend, especially if we have
not confronted our abuser… We’re the ones who sit and watch – not speaking
very much – maybe withdrawn into the privacy of our own minds, a dangerous place
to be! Because, you see, we can’t forget. It is always there nagging at us –
making us feel like we are no good – not fit to be alive so different from
everyone else in the room. We have a tendency to cry at the drop of a hat. We
are sometimes “snappy” at others and easily angered. When others are happy – we
are sad.

Reach out to us please give us a smile and a hug, not too overpowering, but
just enough to let us know you care and love us the unlovable.

And to you, the victims stop being victims be survivors! Stop
giving in to pressure. Make your own decisions. If you don’t want to hurt others
in your family, make a decision to limit the time with your abuser, even in the
family situation. Do something good for yourself. Sleep in. (SMART note: some
survivors might be safer avoiding their abusers totally.)

Buy something you really want. Do something for another victim to let them know
you understand what that person is feeling. Spend time with your own children.
Make happy memories for them and yourself. And remember the holiday season will
only last for a short time – we have a whole year to get stronger and we will with
God’s help!

Survivor letters

The following are survivor letters that SMART has permission to reprint. Please
use caution while reading them, they may be triggering.

Letter #1

When you feel like you’ve been broken into a million pieces, just remember
something that my t said to me during our last session. (I’m paraphrasing,
but…) “You have such a beautiful, creative mind that you found a solution to an
impossible problem…a way through the hell of your childhood…If you weren’t
multiple, you would definitely be psychotic. Nobody can go through what you went
through without some kind of creative psychological defense and remain sane.”

I believe he’s right. I often take my frustrations out on the various “pieces”
(a.k.a. inside people) who surface, blaming them for any of my problems. The
truth is that they and their existence are probably the only reasons I’m alive and
sane today.

Let’s give thanks to our alters (wow, my denial muscle is strained just using that
word), even the angry and sad ones. If it weren’t for them and their strength of
sharing our load with us, we might not be who we are today.

Letter #2

I’ve been pondering on my current state, and I’m recognizing (again) how much I
miss my “alters.” Like you said, they are the reason I survived at all. I feel
empty without them, but then I remember that “they” are still parts of me,
assimilated or not. I hadn’t planned on integrating, but when it happened it was
so lovely – the voices mixed together in an incredible harmony, and for those
moments I knew my song in the universe.

What I have to remind myself is that, once having heard it, I must find a way to
honor it and keep it alive in my heart and soul. I am the “I that is WE”. The
most wonderful thing that ever happened to me was to divide and hold precious in
separate compartments all of my “selves”. I loved every
one of them, and love them still. Loving myself as myself is the hard
part.

I feel I dishonor the work and pain they took for me when I abuse my body with
food. I really hate that thought, and realize what I really still hate is my
body. The mistaken thinking is that I was betrayed by my body, but I know that
isn’t true. I was betrayed by evil perps with evil hearts and evil plans. I am
blessed that I am not still part of that society, and
rejoice that I can be part of the fight against them.

I learned that the parts of me that appeared to be the most dangerous, unfeeling,
etc., were the parts that were strongest in the battle to be free. Once they were
given voice (or other outlet) without judgement, and they could sort out the
system for themselves, every one of them chose to join the fight. They were
strong, and yes, even steely, wanting to c*t up my arm also at one point. Under
the gentle direction of my t, they were allowed the knife to c*t, and told to do
it if they felt they had to.

Given this option, they realized they DIDN’T have to c*t after all. I know fellow
survivors who were c*tters, but with good t’s they eventually stopped, choosing
instead to find a way to c*t the perps (symbolically). I also learned that my
parts really are still there, and I can seek out new ways to connect and
communicate with them, letting myself be who I need to be and hear what I need to
hear. I just keep forgetting that in the daily rush of my life. I revel every
time someone lets another part write part or all of a post. It’s a connection to
be cherished, regardless of the topic or choice of words, because it’s part of the
harmony that makes each of us who we really are without the executive voice
saying “don’t do or say such things”. Julaine

Follow up to Issue #30 release on R. Carlson. From the “Thunder Bay Source”,
12/30/99 “A judge has denied an application to have a Thunder Bay man declared a
dangerous offender. Richard Albert Carlson was convicted of the 1992 robbery of
a city bank…. sentencing him instead to 19 years in prison. Two years were
removed from the sentence for time Carlson has already served.”

Lynne Moss-Sharman has told us that Mr. Carlson has appealed both the conviction
and the unprecedented term of sentencing claiming that his initial defense lawyer
did not call defense witnesses forward during the bank robbery trial. It is
alleged that witnesses were not allowed in the court room during that trial nor
were they allowed to present eye witness testimony that he was not in the province
of Ontario when the bank robbery occurred. One of Canada’s most prominent and
successful defense lawyer, has agreed to act on Mr. Carlson’s behalf for the
appeal itself. Mr. Carlson is still being held on remand in the Thunder Bay
District Jail where he has been confined for almost three years.
