The purpose of this newsletter is to help stop secretive organizations and groups from abusing others and to help those who allege they have been abused by such organizations and groups.

She has attempted to document through research and FOIA’s material that validates her personal experiences as well as other survivors. Her book walks us through her horrifying journey of experimentation and training by her CIA torturers beginning at the age of four as part of the government sanctioned Bluebird/Artichoke and MKULTRA Projects. Using electroshock, drugs, hypnosis, sensory deprivation, and insidious trauma, our government performs Mind Control experiments on her and other innocent children. The objective is creation of a Manchurian Candidate-a sleeper assassin-as well as instilling skills in ESP and remote viewing.

A Nation Betrayed also shows how our own tax dollars paid doctors and hospitals to conduct Cold War research with chemical and biological warfare materials and radiation. Why hasn’t our government been held accountable not only for these atrocities, but for dumping chemicals at sea, testing chemicals on unsuspecting U.S. populations, administering LSD to unwitting soldiers, feeding radioactive cereal to retarded children, and other unthinkable acts in the name of national security?

LSD ‘Guinea Pig’ Wins in Court – Government, Prison Doctor Confess to Negligence Citizen investigation revealed that hundreds of inmates were used in scientific experiments in 1960’s, 1970’s – Jim Bronskill and Mike Blanchfield – Ottawa Citizen page A 1 – OTTAWA – “The federal government and a former prison psychologist have confessed to battery and negligence for giving LSD to a teenage inmate — a drug she says caused brain damage and hallucinations. The admission by the government and by Mark Eveson, a psychologist, in Ontario’s Superior Court of Justice is a victory for former prisoner Dorothy Proctor. A total of 23 female inmates were administered LSD as part of a 1961 study at the now-defunct federal Prison for Women in Kingston, Ont.”

Second man permitted to join lawsuit over alleged physical, mental torture – Jane Gadd, Courts Reporter, 5/5/01 “The Ontario Superior Court has agreed to add a second representative plaintiff to a lawsuit that alleges inmates at Ontario’s main facility for the criminally insane were physically and mentally tortured. Hearing focuses on witchcraft – ‘Satanic Bible’ found near can holding skeleton, investigator says – By Glenn Puit – Review-journal – 4/10/01 Las Vegas Review-Journal – “The criminal case of Brookey Lee West was bizarre enough last February, when authorities accused West of sealing her mother’s body in a trash can. But on Monday, during West’s preliminary hearing in Las Vegas Justice Court, a witness revealed that a series of seemingly sinister books – from the “Satanic Bible” to “The Geography of Witchcraft” – were found near the putrefied remains of West’s mother….Inside boxes next to the trash can, Matvay said he found several books pertaining to black magic, witchcraft, Satanism and “other things of that nature.” http://www.lvrj.com/lvrj_home/2001/Apr-10-Tue-2001/news/15838212.html

Jericho School for the Deaf – Victims Can Proceed with Lawsuit – Vancouver Sun – Jericho Hill students win court victory – Supreme Court of Canada rules 280 claimants alleging abuse – can collectively sue B.C. government, Patricia Bailey, with files from Janice Tibbetts Vancouver Sun, with files, from Canadian Press “Nearly 300 students who say they were sexually abused at Vancouver’s Jericho Hill School for the deaf over a period of four decades won a surprise victory in Canada’s top court … A few hours after a hearing on the case, the Supreme Court of Canada ruled unanimously that 280 claimants can now collectively sue the B.C. government for compensation.”

Sexual-abuse victim granted $1.4M award – Judge says Groton woman suffered long-term effects By Stan DeCoster 6/12/01 – Skip Weisenburger/The Day – “Karma Smith with Chester Fairlie, the attorney she retained to pursue her sexual abuse suit against Darryl Scott of Ledyard. A Superior Court judge has awarded nearly $1.4 million to Karma Smith of Groton, ordering that a one-time family friend pay the price for sexually abusing her as early as age 12 and triggering physical and psychological problems that continue to haunt her today.”

Woman wins hypnotist case – by Michael Horsnell – 5/26/01 – A woman who claimed that she was turned into a suicidal zombie when a stage hypnotist reawakened the trauma of childhood sex abuse won her legal action for damages yesterday….The judge found that Mrs Howarth was the victim of “persistent childhood sexual abuse”. Her behaviour in developing coping strategies and in keeping the matter secret from the world was entirely consistent with the behaviour of adults who had been abused as children. Ex-pupils seek payback for abuse at deaf school – By Meadow Rue Merrill, Globe Correspondent, 6/11/01 – PORTLAND, Maine – “state-run Governor Baxter School for the Deaf, on Maine’s Mackworth Island, near Portland….Martineau was one of the first to demand the state take responsibility for what had happened. Denied the ability to sue, he helped form a survivors’ support group, A Safer Place of Portland, to prod the state to take action…40 years after the alleged abuse began…the group is growing in solidarity…the Maine Legislature, which is expected to set aside $5 million to compensate victims and to apologize to each one….In 1976, six years before the attorney general’s investigation, at least three Baxter teachers had independently reported suspected abuse to the Maine Department of Education, but no action was taken. By the time the attorney general investigated, it was too late to press charges. “Secrets and sins gone by – Elizabeth McKenna has long maintained she was sexually abused by her priest. Now, the Church has apologized – 5/10/01 – Chris Eby – National Post – McKenna, now 53, alleges Fr. Reed forced her to perform sexual acts on him. The Catholic bishop of Sault Ste. Marie has quietly apologized to a Toronto woman who alleges she was used as a sex slave by her priest from the time she was a schoolgirl. Italian child-sex ring arrests – Rome, Italy – 5/21/01 – Police in Italy believe they have broken a paedophile ring suspected of abusing children as young as five. Among those arrested …were doctors, businessmen and a school cleaner…..As well as the six arrests, police seized 89,000 explicit pictures, 128 video films and 5,000 files. Molestation Charges Shock Miss. Town – By Ralph D. Russo, AP Writer 6/7/01 – Jayess, Miss. – “Valley of the Kings Church patriarch David Earl King, 66, and Nathan Paul King, 32, believed to be King’s adopted son, were indicted in April on charges of sexual battery, conspiracy to commit sexual battery and contributing to the delinquency of a minor….The indictment includes a second possible victim, identified as an 11-year-old boy who alleges Nathan King attempted to have sex with him. Since the arrest, Dillon says at least eight people from Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi have come forward, alleging sexual abuse by David King and church followers. Iatrogenic memory change. Examining the empirical evidence. Leavitt F Am J Forensic Psychol (19)2: 21-32, 2001. “Certainty of sexual abuse predated treatment in 33% of the cases. Therapeutic causation was unlikely in another 26% because personal certainty of abuse emerged on average 4.1 years after termination of treatment. The pattern was similar for groups treated with and without hypnosis. Remarkably few patients recovered first memories in therapy with the help of hypnosis. This study places the percentage at 4%. Thus, in the direct study of patients who recovered memory of childhood sexual abuse, hypnosis was not an important factor in the emergence of sexual abuse memories. …The results do not support widespread implanting of novel memories of sexual abuse by therapists.”

“Lost in a shopping mall” — A breach of professional ethics. Crook LS, Dean M Ethics & Behavior 9(1):39-50, 1999 – “The “lost in a shopping mall” study has been cited to support claims that psychotherapists can implant memories of false autobiographical information of childhood trauma in their patients. The mall study originated in 1991 as 5 pilot experiments involving 3 children and 2 adult participants…An analysis of the mall study shows that, beyond the external misrepresentations, internal scientific methodological errors cast doubt on the validity of the claims that have been attributed to the mall study within scholarly and legal arenas.”

The Spectrum of Dissociative Disorders: An Overview of Diagnosis and Treatment by Joan A. Turkus, M.D. “Researchers and clinicians believe that dissociation is a common, naturally occurring defense against childhood trauma. Children tend to dissociate more readily than adults. Faced with overwhelming abuse, it is not surprising that children would psychologically flee (dissociate) from full awareness of their experience.” The dissociative spectrum (Braun, 1988) extends from normal dissociation to poly-fragmented DID. All of the disorders are trauma-based, and symptoms result from the habitual dissociation of traumatic memories….The dissociated memory is alive and active – not forgotten, merely submerged (Tasman & Goldfinger, 1991). A review of the book “A Retractor’s Account – Making Of An Illness : My Experience with Multiple Personality Disorder by MacDonald, Gail, review by Philip M. Coons, MD, Professor Emeritus, Dept. of Psych., Indiana Univ. School of Medicine. In the forward of the book by Campbell Perry, Ph.D., scientific board member of FMSF, “Dr. Campbell speculates…that her therapeutic experience was “horrible,” that she was “conned,”…who underwent “disguised” hypnosis. (He)… makes these statements despite …recent research demonstrating that bizarre memories cannot be suggested (Pezdek, Finger, Hodge, 1997) Dr. Perry did not review the treatment notes, journal entries…material which was available in this case, nor did he personally examine (her)… Coon’s review describes Mrs. MacDonald’s history. “Because Mrs. McDonald tells a highly-biased, one sided account…Is her continuing memory loss evidence of traumatic amnesia ? …The psychiatrist who offered the opinion that (she) had no psychiatric diagnosis was clearly in error…by (her) own admission…” she had a variety of social adjustment problems prior to therapy. Woman Learned How To Kill As A Child – 5/10/01 – While most children were playing on the playground, Cheryl Hersha says that she was learning how to kill as a child. NewsChannel5’s Brad Harvey reports that Hersha, a registered nurse, tells a story of an abusive military father who forced her and her sister into a CIA child spy program called MK Ultra. U.S. Tried to Find, Employ Nazis – By Ron Kampeas, Associated Press Writer – 4/28/01 – Washington (AP) – There were the Nazis the United States wanted to try as criminals, and there were other Nazis it wanted to try out as employees….Some of the Nazis on the CIA payroll were wanted as war criminals, and some lived well, apparently profiting from stolen Jewish property….Allen Dulles, a senior OSS agent, never forgot Guido Zimmer, a midlevel Nazi SS officer who negotiated the surrender of German troops in northern Italy in May 1945. The success led to Dulles’ eventual promotion to CIA director. A September 1945 memo from another, anonymous OSS official expresses pointed resentment at Dulles’ protection of Zimmer, who had helped organize the murder and deportation of Italian Jews….U.S. paid Nazi … Klaus Barbie, a Gestapo officer infamous for ordering the murder of French Jewish children. Germans at last learn truth about von Braun’s ‘space research’ base – Electronic Telegraph – Issue 2207 6/10/01 – Tony Paterson in Peenemunde ” the horrific conditions experienced by more than 20,000 foreign slave and concentration camp labourers who perished through starvation and maltreatment while constructing the V1 rocket at “Dora”, the underground Nazi armaments factory in Thuringia, central Germany. A Polish slave-labour survivor of the Dora factory recalls how Wernher von Braun visited the works and seemed “completely unperturbed” by the piles of corpses. Further evidence exposes the role played by Heinrich Luebke, the former West German federal president, as one of the organisers of Nazi slave labour at Peenemunde and at Dora. Trauma immunological studies of abuse survivors

Antinuclear antibodies and thyroid function in sexually abused girls. De Bellis MD, Burke L, Trickett PK, Putnam FW J Trauma Stress 1996 Apr; 9(2):369-78 “14 sexually abused and 13 control girls, ages 8-15 years…a significantly higher incidence of plasma antinuclear antibody titers was seen in abused subjects when compared with the frequency of positive antinuclear antibody titers in a sample of 22 adult healthy female volunteers, ages 20-58 years. These findings suggest that sexually abused girls may show evidence of an alteration in normal immune homeostatic function.”

Phenotype of blood lymphocytes in PTSD suggests chronic immune activation. Wilson SN, van der Kolk B, Burbridge J, Fisler R, Kradin R Psychosomatics 1999 May-Jun;40(3):222-5 – “Peripheral blood lymphocytes (PBL) of patients with PTSD associated with a history of childhood sexual abuse were examined for changes in immune phenotype…. These findings suggest the presence of increased lymphocyte activation in the PBL of patients with PTSD.”

Suppression of cellular immunity in men with a past history of posttraumatic stress disorder. A comparison of chronic pain patients and controls on traumatic events in childhood – Goldberg RT, Goldstein R – Disabil Rehab 2000 Nov 22(17:) 756-763 – “Examined the incidence of traumatic events in childhood, such as sexual abuse and physical abuse, in individuals experiencing chronic pain. 92 outpatients (aged 20-62 yrs) with chronic pain completed questionnaires concerning sexual, physical, and verbal abuse in childhood….Results show that child abuse was reported in 54.4% of chronic pain Ss, compared with 21.4% of controls. Sexual abuse and verbal abuse were statistically significant predictors of being a member of the pain group. Gender was not a statistically significant predictor for sexual abuse.”

Statistics say abuse hits close to home – By Jordana Hart, The Boston Globe – 5/31/01 – “According to State Police, county prosecutors, and child advocates, children under age 17 have made up more than half the reported rape victims in Massachusetts since 1997. At least a third of them said they were attacked by their fathers, stepfathers, other male relatives, or mother’s boyfriends. Business Week – 6/11/01 – Developments to Watch – Troubled Kids: It’s Nurture, Not Nature – “Researchers, who have followed 593 families since 1975, report that the risk of certain mental illnesses triples in children whose parents are excessively harsh or abusive, or provide inadequate supervision. In families with such poor parenting, 63% of the children developed depression, anxiety, drug abuse, or other psychiatric ailments by the time they were adults, says a report in the current Archives of General Psychiatry…”It didn’t matter if the parents had disorders or not. It was the way they raised their children that determined whether the child had a disorder.”

These data suggest that childhood trauma may be a precursor for somatic preoccupation during adulthood.”

Post-traumatic stress disorder in extremely poor women: Implications for health care clinicians. Bassuk EL, Dawson R, Perloff J, Weinreb L J Am Med Womens Assoc 2001 Spring; 56(2):79-85 “We found that extremely poor women with lifetime PTSD were more likely to have grown up in family environments of violence, threat, and anger than those without PTSD. The strongest risk factor for PTSD was childhood sexual abuse with threat. Low-income women with lifetime PTSD had more bodily pain, even when controlling for other health and demographic factors. Women with PTSD experienced more chronic health conditions and had more problematic relationships with their health care providers and perceived more barriers to care.”

“Dissociation as a Mediator of Psychopathology Among Sexually Abused Children and Adolescents” Am J Psychiatry 158:1034-1039, July 2001 – Cassandra L. Kisiel, Ph.D. and John S. Lyons, Ph.D. – “Sexual abuse history was significantly associated with dissociation, whereas a history of physical abuse was not. Both sexual abuse and dissociation were independently associated with several indicators of mental health disturbance, including risk-taking behavior (suicidality, self-mutilation, and sexual aggression).”

The development of dissociation in maltreated preschool-aged children. Macfie J, Cicchetti D, Toth SL Dev Psychopathol 2001 Spring; 13(2):233-54 “Maltreated children, especially physically abused children and sexually abused children, demonstrated more dissociation than did nonmaltreated children. Moreover, during the preschool period, maltreated and nonmaltreated children followed different trajectories such that dissociation increased for maltreated children but did not do so for nonmaltreated children. Findings suggest that although the self is normatively integrated during the preschool period, it becomes increasingly fragmented for some maltreated children.”

Childhood abuse and premilitary sexual assault in male Navy recruits. Merrill LL, Thomsen CJ, Gold SR, Milner JS J Consult Clin Psychol 2001 Apr; 69(2):252-61 “…both CPA and CSA were independently and additively predictive of rape in each sample, with men who experienced both forms of abuse showing the highest risk of committing rape. Additional analyses revealed that alcohol problems and number of sex partners significantly mediated the relationship between childhood abuse (CPA and CSA) and rape perpetration.”

A recent report by DePaul University’s International Human Rights Law Institute finds 80 percent of those sold into sexual slavery are under 24, with some as young as 6.
