Ritual Abuse and Mind Control : Research and Advocacy

Ritual Abuse and Mind Control : Research and Advocacy

Neil Brick’s presentation at the Male Survivor Conference – John Jay College, New York, NY -10/27/07

This is an updated version of the presentation, updated 11/9/07.

Hi ! I wanted to thank you for coming to my presentation today. My name is Neil Brick and I am the editor of SMART newsletter and the conference coordinator of The Annual Ritual Abuse, Secretive Organizations and Mind Control Conference. There are over 75 newsletters out and the newsletter has been published since 1995. We just had our sixth conference this summer in Connecticut.  My e-mail address is smartnews@aol.com There is a handout available for the presentation you can follow and use for future reference.

I wanted to warn people that some of the content described here today may be heavy for some survivors, especially those with ritual abuse backgrounds, so if you need to go for a walk with a safe support person during the presentation, please feel free to do so. Also, you might want to be aware if you are become spacy or dissociated and try to stay present with grounding techniques, like feeling the floor under your feet. Please hold all questions until the end or until I ask for them, so I will have the time to finish the presentation. This is not meant as and should not be used as therapy. Thanks.

Today’s presentation is called “Ritual Abuse and Mind Control : Research and Advocacy” and will be in four parts.

1) People will learn about the components of mind control and ritual abuse through basic definitions.

2) Then I will discuss the data that shows that mind control and ritual abuse exists, through media sources, research studies, anecdotal data and my own personal story.

First I will define ritual abuse and mind control. A discussion of recovered memory will follow. Symptomology is also an important proof that dissociation is connected to extreme abuse. Studies will be presented to show this connection. Allegations showing the possible connection of FMS promoters to pro-pedophilia philosophies will be discussed. The veracity of recovered memory will be covered.

3) Information on the commercial sexual exploitation of children and the numerous stories about court cases, rings and online child pornography on the web will be discussed. Another connection is the willingness of governments and agencies to perform “unethical experiments” on people in Canada and the United States. Documented evidence on the existence of mk-ultra, government sponsored research which includes the mind control and ritual abuse of children will be covered. Then research studies will be presented showing the existence of ritual abuse.

4) Then I will briefly discuss ways survivors can be helped and survivor efforts to heal and stop mind control and ritual abuse and learn about how survivors can be helped and mind control and ritual abuse can be stopped

1) To learn about the components of mind control and ritual abuse.

First I will define ritual abuse and mind control.

What is Ritual Abuse?

“…is methodical abuse, often using indoctrination, aimed at breaking the will of another human being. In a 1989 report, the Ritual Abuse Task Force of the L.A. County Commission for Women defined ritual abuse as: “Ritual Abuse usually involves repeated abuse over an extended period of time. The physical abuse is severe, sometimes including torture and killing. The sexual abuse is usually painful, humiliating, intended as a means of gaining dominance over the victim. The psychological abuse is devastating and involves the use of ritual indoctrination. It includes mind control techniques which convey to the victim a profound terror of the cult members …most victims are in a state of terror, mind control and dissociation” (Pg. 35-36) “Safe Passage to Healing”, by Chrystine Oksana, 1994, HarperCollins, which is an excellent source for survivor and co-survivors on the topic, though there is a newer edition out by iuniverse.com (2001)

What is Mind Control ?

Mind Control is the use of subliminal techniques to control a person’s actions, mind state or thoughts. Subliminal techniques may include the use of words or language in a variety of fashions, visual stimuli, a combination of different stimuli, the intentional use or misuse or deprivation of information, electronic stimuli techniques, such as brain wave machines and e-weapons, the deprivation of basic human needs, such as sleep and food, the use of emotions to manipulate thoughts (such as guilt or fear), hypnotic techniques or suggestions, rituals or role plays meant to induce suggestible states, the use of certain drugs, other techniques to induce a meditative mind state (like meditation) or specific movements or motions (like spinning). A combination of these techniques may be used. Please note that some of these techniques can also be used by an individual to help themselves in these more suggestible states, like meditation or brain wave machines.

Avoiding these techniques that by pass the “rational mind” or “ego” involves learning how they states feel and developing grounding techniques or even better, avoidance techniques, like not watching TV or going to cult meetings. There are online resources at our web page if you need more information about this.

Our web page has more information about mind control. A good source for propaganda and mind control techniques is http://members.aol.com/smartnews/page/Sample-Issue-30.htm

2) Now, I will discuss the data that shows that mind control and ritual abuse exists, through media sources, research studies, anecdotal data and my own personal story.

Due to the disinformation out there promoted by the “false memory syndrome” promoters (which is not a syndrome and is not in the DSM-IV) and the propaganda in the media, I feel it prudent to cover first the topics of recovered memory, survivor symptomology, proof dissociation is connected to severe abuse, a rebuttal of PAS (parental alienation “syndrome”) a “syndrome” used in court against parents that allege the other parent has abused their child or children and allegations showing the possible connection of FMS promoters to pro-pedophilia philosophies. This will help back up the anecdotal data and studies which follow, as well as show the possible rationales for those opposed to the idea of the existence of recovered memory, ritual abuse and mind control.

Recovered memory

Recovered memory is a fact. Anyone that denies this is ignoring huge amounts of data. This is only a small sampling of the data available on recovered memory. More is available at our web page.

The information for this part came from “Memory, Trauma Treatment, and the Law” by Brown, Scheflin and Hammond, W.W. Norton and Co. New York and London, C 1998 (http://www.wwnorton.com) Page 370-381

The base rates for memory commission errors are quite low, at least in professional trauma treatment. The base rates in adult misinformation studies run between zero and 5 percent for adults and between 3 – 5 percent for children. These numbers are quite different than what you might here from the pro-fms people or the media.

“Occasional unwitting misleading suggestions (Yapko, 1994a), even the suggestion of a diagnosis of abuse, cannot adequately explain illusory memories of child sexual abuse.” (p. 379) Occasional suggestions about abuse are not generally effective, except in highly suggestible people.

Research on the Effect of Trauma on Memory – Research has shown that traumatized individuals respond by using a variety of psychological mechanisms. One of the most common means of dealing with the pain is to try and push it out of awareness. Some label the phenomenon of the process whereby the mind avoids conscious acknowledgment of traumatic experiences as dissociative amnesia…Others use terms such as repression , dissociative state , traumatic amnesia, psychogenic shock, or motivated forgetting . Semantics aside, there is near-universal scientific acceptance of the fact that the mind is capable of avoiding conscious recall of traumatic experiences….Summary of the results of scientific literature showing a high prevalence of full or partial dissociative amnesia for traumatic events in traumatized populations. Studies show that a period of either partial or full amnesia is reported by between 30 and 90% of adult victims of childhood sexual abuse. Moreover, no study that has looked for evidence of traumatic or dissociative amnesia after child sexual abuse has failed to find it. …Research has shown that the content of recovered memories are just as likely to be accurate as those of continuously held memories of trauma….Research shows that children rarely fabricate stories about being abused.” http://www.leadershipcouncil.org/1/tm/tm.html

“The hypothesis that false memories can easily be implanted in psychotherapy (Lindsay & Read, 1994; Loftus 1993; Loftus & Ketcham, 1994; Ofshe and Watters, 1993, 1994; Yapko, 1994a) seriously overstates the available data. Since no studies have been conducted on suggested effects in psychotherapy per se, the idea of iatrogenic suggestion of false memories remains an untested hypothesis. (Memory, Trauma Treatment, And the Law Brown, Scheflin and Hammond (D. Corydon), 1998, W. W. Norton 0-393-70254-5)

Summary of Research Examining the Prevalence of Full or Partial Dissociative Amnesia for Traumatic Events – The most comprehensive review of the scientific literature on dissociative amnesia has been conducted by Brown, Scheflin and Hammond in their book, Memory, Trauma Treatment, and the Law . (New York: Norton, 1998). This book is viewed as setting the standard in the field after receiving the American Psychiatric Association’s 1999 prestigious Manfred S. Guttmacher Award for best book in law and forensic psychiatry. Brown, Scheflin and Hammond reviewed 43 studies relevant to the subject of traumatic memory and found that every study that examined the question of dissociative amnesia in traumatized populations demonstrated that a substantial minority partially or completely forget the traumatic event experienced, and later recover memories of the event. Dissociative amnesia can occur after any type of traumatic event. http://www.leadershipcouncil.org/1/tm/prev.html

Ground Lost: The False Memory/Recovered Memory Therapy Debate, by Alan Scheflin, Psychiatric Times 11/99, Vol. XVI Issue 11] The appearance in the DSM-IV indicates that the concept of repressed memory is generally accepted in the relevant scientific community. This satisfies courts following the Frye v United States, 293 F.1013 (1923) or Daubert v Merrell Dow Pharmaceutical, 113 S. Ct. 2786 (1993) rules regarding the admissibility of scientific testimony into evidence in court….Although the science is limited on this issue, the only three relevant studies conclude that repressed memories are no more and no less accurate than continuous memories (Dalenberg, 1996; Widom and Morris, 1997; Williams, 1995). Thus, courts and therapists should consider repressed memories no differently than they consider ordinary memories. http://www.psychiatrictimes.com/p991137.html

Suspected repressed childhood sexual abuse: Gender effects on diagnosis and treatment. Sullins CD Psychology of Women Quarterly 1998 Sep Vol 22(3) 403-418 “These results do not support reports that many therapists neglect clients’ current symptoms and instead focus on memories, use controversial techniques, make suggestive statements regarding abuse, or immediately assume that their clients have repressed memories.”

…recent research demonstrating that bizarre memories cannot be suggested (Pezdek, Finger, Hodge, 1997)

Iatrogenic memory change. Examining the empirical evidence. Leavitt F Am J Forensic Psychol (19)2: 21-32, 2001. “Certainty of sexual abuse predated treatment in 33% of the cases. Therapeutic causation was unlikely in another 26% because personal certainty of abuse emerged on average 4.1 years after termination of treatment. The pattern was similar for groups treated with and without hypnosis. Remarkably few patients recovered first memories in therapy with the help of hypnosis. This study places the percentage at 4%. Thus, in the direct study of patients who recovered memory of childhood sexual abuse, hypnosis was not an important factor in the emergence of sexual abuse memories. …The results do not support widespread implanting of novel memories of sexual abuse by therapists.”

1: J Am Optom Assoc. 1996 Jun;67(6):327-34. Visual function in multiple personality disorder. Birnbaum MH, Thomann K. State College of Optometry, State University of New York, NY 10010, USA. BACKGROUND: Multiple personality disorder (MPD) is characterized by the existence of two or more personality states that recurrently exchange control over the behavior of the individual. Numerous reports indicate physiological differences, including significant differences in ocular and visual function, across alter personality states in MPD. METHODS: The existing literature was reviewed to provide an overview of the nature and characteristics of MPD, with emphasis on reported physiologic and ocular differences across alter personalities. In addition, a case is reported of an MPD patient seen over a 3-year period. RESULTS: Physiologic differences across alter personality states in MPD include differences in dominant handedness, response to the same medication, allergic sensitivities, autonomic and endocrine function, EEG, VEP, and regional cerebral blood flow. Differences in visual function include variability in visual acuity, refraction, oculomotor status, visual field, color vision, corneal curvature, pupil size, and intraocular pressure in the various personality states of MPD subjects as compared to single personality controls. CONCLUSIONS: The possibility of MPDs should be considered in patients who demonstrate unusual variability in ocular and visual findings, particularly with a positive psychiatric history. The existence of visual and other physiologic differences across alter personalities in MPD offers a unique potential for the study of mind-body relationships.

5: Clin Electroencephalogr. 1990 Oct;21(4):200-9. Brain mapping in a case of multiple personality. Hughes JR, Kuhlman DT, Fichtner CG, Gruenfeld MJ. Department of Neurology, University of Illinois, Chicago 60612. Brain maps were recorded on a patient with a multiple personality disorder (10 alternate personalities). Maps were recorded with eyes open and eyes closed during 2 different sessions, 2 months apart. Maps from each alternate personality were compared to those of the basic personality “S”, some maps were similar and some were different, especially with eyes open. Findings that were replicated in the second session showed differences from 4 personalities, especially in theta and beta 2 frequencies on the left temporal and right posterior regions. A rank ordering of the differences in the brain maps of the alternate personalities from S were similar to the rank ordering of the differences in personality characteristics, as judged by the psychiatrist dealing with this patient. Maps from S acting like some of her personalities or from a professional actress portraying the different personalities did not reveal significant differences. Some of these findings are consistent with those in the literature, and the importance of detecting artifact in the raw EEG recording is emphasized.

8: J Nerv Ment Dis. 1988 Sep;176(9):519-27. Multiple personality disorder. A clinical investigation of 50 cases. Coons PM, Bowman ES, Milstein V. Carter Memorial Hospital, Indianapolis, Indiana 46202. To study the clinical phenomenology of multiple personality, 50 consecutive patients with DSM-III multiple personality disorder were assessed using clinical history, psychiatric interview, neurological examination, electroencephalogram, MMPI, intelligence testing, and a variety of psychiatric rating scales. Results revealed that patients with multiple personality are usually women who present with depression, suicide attempts, repeated amnesic episodes, and a history of childhood trauma, particularly sexual abuse. Also common were headaches, hysterical conversion, and sexual dysfunction. Intellectual level varied from borderline to superior. The MMPI reflected underlying character pathology in addition to depression and dissociation. Significant neurological or electroencephalographical abnormalities were infrequent. These data suggest that the etiology of multiple personality is strongly related to childhood trauma rather than to an underlying electrophysiological dysfunction. PMID: 3418321 Arch Gen Psychiatry. 1982 Jul;39(7):823-5.

EEG studies of two multiple personalities and a control. Coons PM, Milstein V, Marley C. There are few reports of EEG findings in patients with multiple personalities. In our study, EEGs were visually scanned and frequency analyzed in two patients with multiple personalities and one control. Auditory and visual evoked responses were also obtained from one of the patients and the control. The visually scanned EEGs and the evoked responses demonstrated few differences among the various personalities in each patient, whereas the frequency analysis showed the greatest number of significant differences among the “personalities” in the control. These data suggest that EEG differences among personalities in a person with multiple personalities involve intensity of concentration, mood changes, degree of muscle tension, and duration of recording, rather than some inherent difference between the brains of persons with multiple personalities and those of normal persons.

PSYCHOLOGY – Identity Crisis – What is it like to live with 17 alternate selves? A survivor of multiple personality disorder discusses the disease and the painful integration process that made her whole. By Anne Underwood | Newsweek Web Exclusive Oct 22, 2007 Multiple personality disorder is a perplexing phenomenon to outside observers, believed to be brought on by persistent childhood abuse. What is it like living with MPD? And how does a sufferer function, with so many alternate personalities–or “alters”–some of them adults and some children? NEWSWEEK’s Anne Underwood spoke with Karen Overhill–a former sufferer and the subject of a new book, “Switching Time,” by Dr. Richard Baer. Excerpts: http://www.newsweek.com/id/57861

Mysteries of the mind unfold at program 10-06-2006 “Eve,” whose real name is Chris Costner Sizemore, and her son, Bobby, spoke to Stetson University students recently at a special program that included a lecture, slide show of Chris’ artwork, a frank question-and-answer session, and a reception. Chris talked openly of her struggles with Multiple Personality Disorder, which in her case had manifested itself in more than 20 personas over several decades. She has been healed for 30 years….Chris was the subject of the 1957 book by Drs. Corbett H. Thigpen and Hervey M. Cleckley, “The Three Faces of Eve” (Kingsport Press), and of the subsequent movie of the same name. Actor Joanne Woodward won an Oscar for her portrayal of Chris, who is depicted in the book and movie as having three personalities and eventually as being cured….One student asked how Chris deals with people who challenge that MPD isn’t a real disorder. “That’s their problem,” she joked, before saying that Duke University researchers analyzed the brushstrokes of paintings created by her seven artist personalities. Each had a distinct brushstroke. Chris said her many personalities arose in response to “hurtful events” during childhood. Today, “I don’t need them,” she said of the personalities. “As a whole person, I can face my realities and deal with them.” http://www.stetson.edu/marcom/articles/view.php?type=stories&id=198

Symptomology

Symptomology is also an important proof that dissociation is connected to extreme abuse. There are many studies that show this connection. Again, this is only a small sampling of the data.

Dissociation as a mediator of psychopathology among sexually abused children and adolescents. Kisiel CL, Lyons JS Am J Psychiatry 2001 Jul;158(7):1034-9 “The study group consisted of 114 children and adolescents (ages 10-18 years)…. The findings suggest a unique relationship between sexual abuse and dissociation. Dissociation may be a critical mediator of psychiatric symptoms and risk-taking behavior among sexually abused children.”

The role of childhood interpersonal trauma in depersonalization disorder. Simeon D, Guralnik O, Schmeidler J, Sirof B, Knutelska M Am J Psychiatry 2001 Jul; 158(7):1027-33 “Childhood interpersonal trauma as a whole was highly predictive of both a diagnosis of depersonalization disorder and of scores denoting dissociation, pathological dissociation, and depersonalization.

The Spectrum of Dissociative Disorders: An Overview of Diagnosis and Treatment by Joan A. Turkus, M.D. “Researchers and clinicians believe that dissociation is a common, naturally occurring defense against childhood trauma. Children tend to dissociate more readily than adults. Faced with overwhelming abuse, it is not surprising that children would psychologically flee (dissociate) from full awareness of their experience.” The dissociative spectrum (Braun, 1988) extends from normal dissociation to poly-fragmented DID. All of the disorders are trauma-based, and symptoms result from the habitual dissociation of traumatic memories….The dissociated memory is alive and active – not forgotten, merely submerged (Tasman & Goldfinger, 1991). Major studies have confirmed the traumatic origin of DID (Putnam, 1989, and Ross, 1989), which arises before the age of 12 (and often before age 5) as a result of severe physical, sexual, and/or emotional abuse.” http://www.survivors-treehouse.net/Dissociative%20Spectrum.html

Business Week – 6/11/01 – Developments to Watch – Troubled Kids: It’s Nurture, Not Nature – “Researchers, who have followed 593 families since 1975, report that the risk of certain mental illnesses triples in children whose parents are excessively harsh or abusive, or provide inadequate supervision. In families with such poor parenting, 63% of the children developed depression, anxiety, drug abuse, or other psychiatric ailments by the time they were adults, says a report in the current Archives of General Psychiatry…”It didn’t matter if the parents had disorders or not. It was the way they raised their children that determined whether the child had a disorder.”

“Dissociation as a Mediator of Psychopathology Among Sexually Abused Children and Adolescents” Am J Psychiatry 158:1034-1039, July 2001 – Cassandra L. Kisiel, Ph.D. and John S. Lyons, Ph.D. – “Sexual abuse history was significantly associated with dissociation, whereas a history of physical abuse was not. Both sexual abuse and dissociation were independently associated with several indicators of mental health disturbance, including risk-taking behavior (suicidality, self-mutilation, and sexual aggression).”

A rebuttal of PAS (parental alienation “syndrome”) a “syndrome” used in court against parents that allege the other parent has abused their child or children

Dr. Richard Gardner: A Review of His Theories and Opinions on Atypical Sexuality, Pedophilia, and Treatment Issues by Stephanie J. Dallam, RN, MSN, FNP Please note: I do not agree with Gardner’s ideas. “Richard A. Gardner, M.D., is a prominent forensic expert with an extensive career of evaluating children, especially during custody disputes between parents.” “Gardner (1992, p. 588) does not believe in doing therapy with fathers who deny committing sexual molestation. If father desires treatment, the therapist should focus on enhancing his self-esteem. This is accomplished by helping him to appreciate that “there is a certain amount of pedophilia in all of us” and that “pedophilia has been considered the norm by the vast majority of individuals in the history of the world”(Gardner 1992, ppi.592-3).” “Gardner’s Views on Pedophilia – “The sexually abused child is generally considered to be the victim,” though the child may initiate sexual encounters by ‘seducing’ the adult.” “Gardner (1991, p. 118) suggests that Western society’s is “excessively moralistic and punitive” toward pedophiles.” published in Jan/Feb 1998 issue of Treating Abuse Today; the second part was published in the Mar/Apr 1998 issue (Volume 8, issue 2). Wood, “Dr. Gardner espouses these theories in his self-published books, the most recent being The Parental Alienation Syndrome. Ironically, while PAS has been admitted in courts, it has not been accepted by experts in the field: psychologists, child abuse evidentiary experts, or child advocates. This Comment argues that evidence of PAS should not be admissible in court.” http://fact.on.ca/Info/pas/wood94.htm

July/August 1997 | U-turn on Memory Lane by Mike Stanton “Yet in the 1980s and early ’90s, repressed memories were all the rage among reporters and talk-show hosts as the media uncritically focused on accounts of abuse so dramatic and terrible that they must have been true. Some, it eventually became clear, were exaggerations or fabrications. Now, thanks largely to the efforts of the Philadelphia-based False Memory Syndrome Foundation, the pendulum has swung equally far in the other direction. Formed as a support group for accused parents, the foundation has sought primarily to persuade the media of the dangers of psychotherapy in creating “false memories.” Indeed, today there is open skepticism and outright hostility toward the idea that lost memory can be recovered. But often there has been no more hard-news reporting than before, leaving the issue essentially unexplicated in the press. A study published last year by a University of Michigan sociologist, Katherine Beckett, found a sharp shift in how four leading magazines — Time, Newsweek, U.S. News & World Report, and People — treated sexual abuse. In 1991, more than 80 percent of the coverage was weighted toward stories of survivors, with recovered memory taken for granted and questionable therapy virtually ignored. By 1994, more than 80 percent of the coverage focused on false accusations, often involving supposedly false memory. Beckett credited the False Memory Syndrome Foundation with a major role in the change.” http://backissues.cjrarchives.org/year/97/4/memory.asp

Allegations showing the possible connection of FMS promoters to pro-pedophilia philosophies

The McMartin case (a 1980’s trial in California about a ring of alleged pedophiles operating out of a day care) is often cited by pro-FMS proponents as evidence. Here are some citations to refute this evidence and a connection of one proponent to alleged pedophilia.

The McMartin (day care center) case of the 80’s is another example of how a case with legitimate data was “spun..” Tunnels were found under McMartin substantiating the children’s claims. “In 1983, hundreds of kids disclosed to their parents and therapists that they were abused at the prestigious McMartin Preschool in Manhattan Beach, California. Seven people were arrested and charged with hundreds of counts of child sexual abuse, setting off the longest and most expensive trial in U.S. History (7 years).”

“The results of the survey by Ground Penetrating Radar proved consistent with discoveries of the subsequent excavations, all of which confirmed not only the basic descriptions of children but also specific details of location, interior features and putative function.”

“What happened at the McMartin Preschool will be debated for a long time. Few aspects of the case are clear, but it requires no strain of credulity to believe that the children could have been abused at the facility without being diagnosed by a pediatrician.”p. 26 The Battle and the Backlash – The Child Sexual Abuse War – David Hechler, Lexington Books, 1988, ISBN= 0-669-14097

One of the pro-fms writers interested in the case has an interesting history : Since the Eberles’ first McMartin book appeared in 1989, they have achieved national status as child abuse experts. In courts of law their work is frequently cited, and they lecture widely to receptive audiences. The Eberles once appeared as featured speakers at a conference held by Victims of Child Abuse Laws (VOCAL), an organization that feted “The Politics Of Child Abuse” as positively revelatory….Blurbs in their own pornographic tabloid, L.A. Star, failed to mention that in the 1970s the authors once ran an underground tabloid for pedophiles in Los Angeles, Finger, which delved heavily into sadomasochistic sex, sex with children and sex acts involving human excrement. Finger contained sexual drawings by children and pedophile erotica…”

The Eberle’s, proponents of the theory that the children at the McMartin School were not ritually abused, were publishers of sexually explicit periodicals, including “Finger,” a Los Angeles tabloid containing pornographic photographs, drawings and stories about children. Cult and Ritual Abuse – It’s History, Anthropology, and Recent Discovery in Contemporary America – Noblitt and Perskin (Prager, 2000)

“Why Cults Terrorize and Kill Children” LLOYD DEMAUSE The Journal of Psychohistory 21 (4) 1994 – a peer reviewed journal at http://www.geocities.com/kidhistory/whycult.htm “In addition, some of authors of false memory books also turned out to be pedophile advocates. For example, one of the most widely cited books claiming that cult abuse reports were mass hysteria is Paul and Shirley Eberle’s The Abuse of Innocence: The McMartin Preschool trial.(6) Taken quite seriously by reviewers and widely quoted In later maga-zine articles as authoritative, the book makes such claims as that the over 100 McMartin children who reported they had been abused by a cult were all “brainwashed” and the mothers were all “hysterical” and that it was meaningless that physicians found three-quarters of the children bore physical evidence that corroborated their stories. What reviewers didn’t mention was that the Eberles had been called “the most prolific publishers of child pornography in the United States” by Sgt. Toby Tyler, a San Bernadino deputy sheriff who is a nationally recognized expert on child pornography.(7) Their kiddie porn material that I have seen and the articles they have published such as “I Was a Sexpot at Five” and “Little Lolitas” Included illustrations of children involved in sodomy and oral copulation and featured pornographic photos of the Eberles.

Cult and Ritual Abuse – It’s History, Anthropology, and Recent Discovery in Contemporary America – Noblitt and Perskin – Prager (2000) The movie “The Indictment,” produced for Home Box Office, about the McMartin trial, was criticized by several children’s advocacy groups for being slanted in favor of the accused perpetrators. According to an article featured in the newsletter “Sex Abuse, Lies and Videotape,” (1995) the film’s author Abby Mann and his wife Myra became advocates of the operators and staff of the McMartin preschool during the McMartin trial. The article expressed the concern that the film might reflect an unbalanced portrait of accused and accusers such that roles might be reversed in the eyes of the viewing public. This has been proven to be a correct assumption.

(Information from the Los Angeles Times, January 19, 1990, pp. A1 and A22) Nine of 11 jurors at a press conference following the trial stated that they believed the children had been molested. These same jurors stated that they believed that the evidence did not allow them to state who had committed the abuse beyond a reasonable doubt. Elizabeth Loftus is known as one of the most famous promoters of the false memory philosophy. Yet her ethics and research have been questioned by several sources.

From “Memory, Trauma Treatment, and the Law by Brown, Scheflin and Hammond,” W.W. Norton and Co. New York and London, C 1998 (http://www.wwnorton.com) Page 365-366 “WHAT DO WE KNOW ABOUT MEMORY FALLIBILTY? Loftus’s claim that human memory in general is fallible (1979a,b) and that therefore memories recovered in psychotherapy are equally fallible (1993) is both overstated and oversimplified (Koss et al., 1995). Conclusions in a textbook that negative emotional arousal “hinders accurate…memory” (Loftus, 1980, p.78) is misleading in that the statement fails to specify the conditions under which arousal hinders or enhances memory. Her conclusion correctly applies only to laboratory simulation studies of memory for complex visual presentations and only when a particular type of information is assessed. These simulation studies rarely show memory fallibility with respect to the emotional arousing event itself. Moreover, it is misleading to generalize findings on memory fallibilty for certain types of visual information presented in the laboratory to autobiographical memory of patients in psychotherapy….General, overstated claims about memory fallibility fail to take into consideration the complex interaction of variables that affect memory performance.”

Calof, D. L. Notes from the controversy: Ethics complaints filed against prominent FMSF board member. APA declines to investigate. Treating Abuse Today, 5 (6) & 6(1), Nov/Dec 1995 & Jan/Feb 1996, 71-73. According to this article, Loftus had been an active member of the American Psychological Association (APA) since 1973. She resigned January 16, 1996, shortly after the filing of two ethics complaints against her. Although she denies this was the reason for her sudden resignation, two different abuse survivors had recently submitted ethics complaints against Loftus to the APA based on their contention that Loftus had seriously misrepresented their cases in print. Both women had brought successful civil suits against fathers for child sexual abuse based on delayed memories. At their trials, both victims  presented corroborative evidence that met the requirements for judicial proof of their allegations. However, they later discovered published articles or books in which Loftus distorted the facts of their cases to make it appear that  their memories were false. Because of Loftus’ resignation, the APA said it no longer had any authority to pursue the ethics complaints.

Ralph Underwager is another controversial pro-FMS promoter

After Loftus left APA, she joined APS. Look who got fellow status with her in APS. Elizabeth Loftus in 1998 was the president of the American Psychological Society and that Ralph Underwager has been approved for Fellow status in the American Psychological Society.

Not surprisingly, a web site connected to Underwager has attempted to discredit the McMartin case. A website with information attempting to discredit the McMartin data (http://www.ipt-forensics.com/journal/volume7/j7_2_1.htm) and the author’s contact info was listed as an IPT address, was listed under a website sponsored by IPT, the Institute for Psychological Therapies, which was begun in 1974 by Dr. Ralph Underwager after several years of private practice in a large, multi-specialty medical clinic and several years of research work at Youth Research Center. (http://www.ipt-forensics.com/about.htm)

(Please note: I definitely do not agree with Underwager here.) Ralph Underwager is known for a quote in PAIDIKA, a Dutch pro-pedophilia newspaper, http://www.nostatusquo.com/ACLU/NudistHallofShame/Underwager2.html PAIDIKA: Is choosing paedophilia for you a responsible choice for the individuals? RALPH UNDERWAGER: Certainly it is responsible. What I have been struck by as I have come to know more about and understand people who choose paedophilia is that they let themselves be too much defined by other people. That is usually an essentially negative definition. Paedophiles spend a lot of time and energy defending their choice. I don’t think that a paedophile needs to do that. Paedophiles can boldly and courageously affirm what they choose. They can say that what they want is to find the best way to love. I am also a theologian and as a theologian, I believe it is God’s will that there be closeness and intimacy, unity of the flesh, between people. A paedophile can say: “This closeness is possible for me within the choices that I’ve made.” Paedophiles are too defensive. They go around saying, “You people out there are saying that what I choose is bad, that it’s no good. You’re putting me in prison, you’re doing all these terrible things to me. I have to define my love as being in some way or other illicit.” What I think is that paedophiles can make the assertion that the pursuit of intimacy and love is what they choose. With boldness, they can say, “I believe this is in fact part of God’s will.” They have the right to make these statements for themselves as personal choices. Now whether or not they can persuade other people they are right is another matter (laughs).

Others involved

Another article with information on pro-fms researchers is at Messing With Our Minds, an article by Husayn Al-Kurdi, “A quiet but brutal war is being waged on the victims of child abuse, including sexual and even ritual abuse. The battlefields include academia, the courts, professional groups, and society in general. In some cases, the aggressors are the same people accused of perpetuating the violence.” The article mentions West, Orne, Singer, MK-Ultra, the Freyds, Underwager and Wakefield, Loftus, etc., at: http://towardfreedom.com/home/content/view/67/0/

“A Meta-Analytic Examination of Assumed Properties of Child Sexual Abuse Using College Samples” a “pedophilia” study printed by the American Psychological Association, in their professional journal “The Bulletin.” NAMBLA, The North American Man-Boy Love Association which advocates laws to permit sex between adults and “consenting” children, hailed the study on their website as “good news.” One of the authors of the study, Robert Bauseman, Ph. D. (a psychology professor, at the University of Michigan), has an article in “Paidika, The Journal of Pedophilia,” from the Netherlands advocating sex with “willing” children. Bauseman also wrote a special issue on sex between men and boys in 1990 by the Journal of Homosexuality called “Male Intergenerational Intimacy.” It questioned the “taboo” against “man-boy sexual relationships.” Other coauthors of the study include Bruce Rind (Temple University psychology professor) and Philip Tromovitch (doctoral student at University of Pennsylvania). Several people are challenging the APA to condemn the study. The study is a compilation of 59 studies on how college students cope with child sexual abuse.

Harvard Society for Law & Public Policy, Inc. Harvard Journal of Law & Public Policy – Spring, 1999 – 22 Harv. J.L. & Pub. Pol’y 523 The Guilty and the “Innocent”: an Examination of Alleged Cases of Wrongful Conviction from False Confessions by Paul G. Cassell – “According to the authors(Leo and Ofsche), in twenty-nine of these cases the false confession resulted in the wrongful conviction of an innocent person.” “examines nine of these twenty-nine cases in detail. Based on review of original trial court records and other similar sources, the part concludes that each of these nine persons were, in all likelihood, entirely guilty of the crimes charged against them.” “Only a relative handful of Leo and Ofshe’s cases would satisfy the criterion of undisputed wrongful conviction.”

Why Cults Terrorize and Kill Children – Lloyd Demause – The Journal of Psychohistory 21 (4) 1994 “Even when “authorities” are cited to disprove the existence of any physical evidence of cult abuse, these usually end up referring to one man, Kenneth Lanning of the FBI, who says he has “been unable to find one murder of anyone by two or more people following typical satanic ritualistic prescriptions.” What is never mentioned is that Lanning has done no investigative work on any cult anywhere and ignores all kinds of convictions for cult abuse that are in police and court records, while others who have actually done ritual abuse investigative work for the F.B.I. are ignored by the press….The more I dug into the literature, the “curiouser and curiouser” seemed the claims that cults are only witch hunts.” http://www.geocities.com/kidhistory/whycult.htm

More data backing up the existence of ritual abuse and mind control

Information on the commercial sexual exploitation of children. Though there are numerous stories and court cases about sex rings and online child pornography on the web, I will cite a few here.

International child porn ring smashed by Drew Cullen 05/07/03 “Two UK men, both alleged members of The Brotherhood, a worldwide child porn ring, were arrested today in an “International Day of Action”. The UK men were among 21 “board owners, senior administrators and administrators of a complex Internet paedophile network have had premises under their control searched in five different countries in connection with making and distributing paedophilic images”. http://www.theregister.co.uk/content/6/30600.html

Pedophile Playground Sun Media reporter Kim Bradley examines child pornography and the Internet’s role in its proliferation in this 4-page, 4-part report By Kim Bradley, (Calgary) Sun Media “…California-based Orchid Club, busted in 1996, after it hosted an online, by-request assault on a 10-year-old girl that was viewed internationally. That investigation revealed another, much more organized and sophisticated international group – The Wonderland Club – that required 10,000 child porn images as a membership fee and hosted regular online abuse acts. Police identified 180 Wonderland members in 49 countries when they shut it down in 1986….COPINE is seeing an average of three to four new faces of abused kids on the Internet a month. About 40% of girls and 55% of boys are between nine and 12. The rest are younger. The studies also show 50,000 new child-abuse images are being posted to newsgroups alone every month. That doesn’t include those traded in e-mails or listed on peer-to-peer sites commonly used to share music.”

Using kids to make big bucks By Kim Bradley 5/28/03 “While most online child porn is free or traded, highly publicized cases like the Reedys are creating an increase in pay-per-view sites owned by people in it for money, Carr said, adding his group finds 80 to 85 new pay Web sites each month. “The fact they (the Reedys) made $1.4 million in one month was a siren call to the mafia,” said Carr….Det. Sgt. Paul Gillespie of the Toronto Police child exploitation unit. “They are facilitating the abuse of thousands of children for money.” The Russian mafia, and organized crime groups from countries where child porn isn’t seen as a serious offence, are the biggest suppliers of for-profit kiddie porn.”

Scoutmasters set up UK pedophile ring – Stuart Arnold and Marjorie McIntyre 4/11/03 – Newsquest Digital Media “Police are investigating a nationwide paedophile ring of scoutmasters after a North-East man was jailed for 11 years for abusing youngsters in his care. Paul Woodruff, 43, made sex videos with Scouts at his Teesside home, where police seized his collection of 16,000 Internet child porn images. …Sources close to the investigation have revealed that as many as nine London scoutmasters could be linked to Woodruff’s activities.” http://www.thisisthenortheast.co.uk/

Online host of abuse – Police enlist computer industry in fight against child porn By Kim Bradley, Toronto Sun “The Web has also attracted a new breed of criminal: Online sex offenders, or “technophiles,”…. The British Internet Watch Foundation found that an abundance of child pornography could be found in 28 different newsgroups originating in various countries. Research did not include Web sites or material traded via chat rooms. Broken down by country of origin…United States – 62.7% Russia – 10.3% Cyprus – 3.9% Canada – 3.6% Korea – 2.6% United Kingdom – 2.5% Belgium – 1.6% Taiwan – 1.5% Other – 11.3%.”

This is a case in Portugal, involving major politicians.

Party chief called to testify in Lisbon child sex scandal By Elizabeth Nash in Madrid 6/4/03 “Eduardo Ferro Rodrigues is the latest and most senior in a stream of politicians, diplomats and television talkshow hosts to be implicated in a paedophile ring said to have preyed for decades on boys in a state-run orphanage. Mr Rodrigues is likely to be asked whether he covered up illicit activities: he is not suspected of participating in them. But his influential deputy, the former Labour minister Paulo Pedroso, was detained last month over accusations of 15 counts of child sex abuse….allegations that police and other authorities allowed powerful clients to abuse the boys sexually and prostitute them, and did nothing to stop them for 30 years. Several former inmates of the Casa Pia boys’ home in Lisbon have described the sexual abuse they received in the 1970s and 1980s. An official report said that among the children still living at Casa Pia, at least 128 had been subjected to sexual abuse. Many are deaf and dumb.” http://news.independent.co.uk/

Documented evidence on the existence of mk-ultra, government sponsored research which includes the mind control and ritual abuse of children Carol Rutz’ book walks us through her horrifying journey of experimentation and training by her CIA torturers beginning at the age of four as part of the government sanctioned Bluebird/Artichoke and MKULTRA Projects. Using electroshock, drugs, hypnosis, sensory deprivation, and insidious trauma, our government performs Mind Control experiments on her and other innocent children. The objective is creation of a Manchurian Candidate-a sleeper assassin-as well as instilling skills in ESP and remote viewing. “Secret Weapons – Two Sisters’ Terrifying True Story of Sex, Spies and Sabotage” by Cheryl and Lynn Hersha with Dale Griffis, Ph D. and Ted Schwartz. New Horizon Press, P O Box 669 Far Hills, NJ 07931 – ISBN 0-88282-196-2 Is a well-documented, verifiable account of not one, but two childrens’ long untold stories of being CHILD subjects of Project MKUltra. Quotes from the book: “By the time Cheryl Hersha came to the facility, knowledge of multiple personality was so complete that doctors understood how the mind separated into distinct ego states, each unaware of the other. First, the person traumatized had to be both extremely intelligent and under the age of seven, two conditions not yet understood though remaining consistent as factors. The trauma was almost always of a sexual nature…” p. 52 “The government researchers, aware of the information in the professional journals, decided to reverse the process (of healing from hysteric dissociation). They decided to use selective trauma on healthy children to create personalities capable of committing acts desired for national security and defense.” p. 53 – 54 The book also contains a variety of documents on mk-ultra and different projects as well as reports to the Presidential Committee on Radiation and Mind Control, including information on the five Canadians’ lawsuit against the U.S. Government.

There are a variety of articles proving the existence of mk-ultra: United States of America – Advisory Committee on Human Radiation Experiments (Public Meeting) Washington, D.C. – March 15, 1995 Valerie Wolf: “The main reason that mind-control research is being mentioned is because people are alleging that they were exposed as children to mind-control radiation drugs and chemical experimentation, which were administered by the same doctors who are known to have been involved in conducting both radiation and mind-control research.” http://www.gwu.edu/~nsarchiv/radiation/dir/mstreet/commeet/meet12/trnsc12a.txt

U.S. Tried to Find, Employ Nazis – By Ron Kampeas, Associated Press Writer – 4/28/01 – Washington (AP) – There were the Nazis the United States wanted to try as criminals, and there were other Nazis it wanted to try out as employees….Some of the Nazis on the CIA payroll were wanted as war criminals, and some lived well, apparently profiting from stolen Jewish property….Allen Dulles, a senior OSS agent, never forgot Guido Zimmer, a midlevel Nazi SS officer who negotiated the surrender of German troops in northern Italy in May 1945. The success led to Dulles’ eventual promotion to CIA director.

CIA’s Worst-Kept Secret – By Martin A. Germans at last learn truth about von Braun’s ‘space research’ base – Electronic Telegraph – Issue 2207 6/10/01 – Tony Paterson in Peenemunde ” the horrific conditions experienced by more than 20,000 foreign slave and concentration camp labourers who perished through starvation and maltreatment while constructing the V1 rocket at “Dora”, the underground Nazi armaments factory in Thuringia, central Germany. A Polish slave-labour survivor of the Dora factory recalls how Wernher von Braun visited the works and seemed “completely unperturbed” by the piles of corpses. Further evidence exposes the role played by Heinrich Luebke, the former West German federal president, as one of the organisers of Nazi slave labour at Peenemunde and at Dora. For decades, allegations by Communist East Germany that Luebke was a “war criminal” were dismissed by West Germany as propaganda.”

And finally, data proving the existence of ritual abuse

Though Carol Rutz and Cheryl Hersha’s stories above show adequate proof that ritual abuse exists, there are many other cases.

Ritual Abuse Statistics & Research – NUMBERS OF SURVIVORS A single survivor advocate reports direct contact with more than 3,000 survivors. [ StarDancer as quoted by David McCulley, Satanic Ritual Abuse: A Question of Memory, 1993] CORRECTION: During Personal conversation with StarDancer for update and verification, she stated, “I would feel comfortable saying I’ve met or spoken with more than 1,000 people who identify themselves as survivors…Our estimate of the people who have read and used Survivorship is 3,000.” I talked to one of the leaders in the Los Angeles County Task Force on Ritual Abuse, who estimate that there have been more than a hundred California preschools implicated in ritual abuse. [James Friesen, Uncovering the Mystery of MPD, 1991] ….At a 1991 Utah workshop, thirty-two mental health therapists reported treating 360 separate survivors of ritual abuse. By early 1992 the following statement had been signed by sixty-six Utah therapists: “We, the undersigned mental health professional, have each heard memories of ritual abuse recounted by some patients, as have therapists across the nation. We believe these patients” allegations to have basis in fact. We are dismayed by accusations that therapists brainwash their patients or collude to create a mental health problem where none existed. We urge our public officials to take appropriate actions to counter ritual crimes.” The names on the signed petition, affirming the above statement, are given in the 1992 report of the Utah Governor”s Task Force on Ritual Abuse. Satanic Ritual Abuse: The Evidence Surfaces By Daniel Ryder, CCDC, LSW http://home.mchsi.com/~ftio/ra-evidence-surfaces.htm

describes crimes – 13abc is learning disturbing details of a letter, which set the Father Robinson case into motion – Father Robinson trial WTVG–October 29, 2007 – While Father Robinson’s attorney works on his appeal, for the first time we are learning disturbing details of a letter, which set the cold case into motion. Last year, a jury found Gerald Robinson guilty of murdering Sister Margaret Ann Pahl in 1980. It was a letter to the Toledo Diocesan review board from June 2003 that sparked investigators to re-open the case. It is a letter filled with bizarre accounts of ritualistic sexual abuse at the hands of members of the Catholic Church, including priests. Mark Davis is an attorney representing another unknown client who alleges similar abuse by other priests and is suing the Toledo Catholic Diocese. Mark Davis says, “The group purposely makes it so bizarre that a child is not believable and they can escape and get away with these activities.” In one case, a woman says when she was five she was taken to the Calvary Cemetery and put into a coffin-like pine box with cockroaches. Another time, she describes being taken to an abandoned house on Raab Road to take part in satanic activities. The letter also claims much of the sexual abuse took part at St. Pius and the rituals were horrifying and sadistic. http://abclocal.go.com/wtvg/story?section=local&id=5732335

Lawsuit against Robinson reinstated; local woman accuses priest of rape, torture By David Yonke – Blade Religion Editor 10/27/2007 An Ohio appellate court yesterday reinstated a 2005 lawsuit filed by a Toledo woman alleging that Gerald Robinson, the Toledo priest convicted last year in the 1980 murder of a nun, was part of a group that repeatedly tortured and raped her in satanic rituals when she was a child. The 6th District Court of Appeals said the statute of limitations does not bar the woman’s claims because she did could not identify her alleged abusers “until she saw their faces/names from the television and newspaper reports about them” in 2004 and 2005. http://toledoblade.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?Date=20071027&Category=NEWS02&ArtNo=710270400&SectionCat=&Template=printart

describe crimes – Court Reinstates Lawsuit Involving Priests’ Satanic Rituals 10/27/07 LUCAS COUNTY, OHIO–In a decision which will have far reaching effects in clergy abuse cases and eerily issued just days before Halloween, the Sixth District Court of Appeals in Ohio has reinstated a 2005 lawsuit involving alleged satanic rituals against a Toledo priest who was convicted last year in the 1980 murder of a nun. Roman Catholic Gerald Robinson, now 69, was convicted in May, 2006, of the murder of a 71-year-old nun and was sentenced to 15 years to life…..A Toledo woman had brought the civil litigation against Robinson anonymously, suing as Survivor Doe with her husband, Spouse Doe, claiming that Robinson was part of a group that had repeatedly raped her and tortured her in satanic rituals when she was a child.  The woman is now in her 40’s.  In addition to Robinson, defendants are Gerald Mazuchowski, a former lay minister; the Toledo Catholic Diocese; St. Adalbert Parish where she alleges the abuse occurred and the Oblates of St. Francis de Sales. She alleges that Robinson, Mazuchowski and other men dressed in nuns’ habits, used women’s names and engaged in bizarre rituals, victimizing her. A lower court had dismissed her claim, saying it was barred under the statute of limitations. The Appellate Court has reversed that decision and reinstated the woman’s claim, saying that her claim isn’t time barred because she couldn’t identify her alleged abusers due to repressed memory “until she saw their faces/names from the television and newspaper reports about them” in 2004 and 2005 at the time Robinson was arrested and charged with the nun’s murder. http://www.co.lucas.oh.us/Appeals/DecisionsPDF/3400.pdf. ..In December 2003, a woman reported to police that she had been sexually abused by a group of priests who performed Satanic rituals and held sadomasochistic orgies….Survivor Doe specifically alleges that the crimes began to occur while she was attending St. Adalbert from 1968 through 1972. She alleges she was kidnapped against her will and “held either against her will or by beguilement in the basement of St. Adalbert’s.” While being held there, she was used in elaborate, ritualistic ceremonies. http://www.co.lucas.oh.us/Appeals/DecisionsPDF/3400.pdf http://www.northcountrygazette.org/news/2007/10/27/satanic_rituals/

An Empirical Look at the Ritual Abuse Controversy – Randy Noblitt, PhD Adapted in 2007 from a paper presented at the 40th Annual Meeting of the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis, Fort Worth, Texas, March 18, 1998. “Some authors argue that there is no substantial legal evidence that the ritual abuse of children actually occurs, and that most cases of ritual abuse convictions are reversed on appeal. Michael Newton (cited in Noblitt, 1998a) accumulated data on criminal convictions in the U.S. where allegations of ritual abuse of children were made. He found cases of 145 defendants who were sentenced. Seventeen (11.7%) were reversed on appeal. Newton argues that these reversals do not necessarily indicate that the defendants were innocent of the accusations. In some instances the decisions were reversed based on legal technicalities rather than factual matters as to whether the abuse occurred or not.” http://www.ra-info.org/library/programming/noblitt.shtml

Profile of Ritualistic and Religion-Related Abuse Allegations Reported to Clinical Psychologists in the United States – Bette L. Bottoms, Phillip R. Shaver, and Gail S. Satanism and Ritual Abuse – Case-by-Case Documentation: http://alexconstantine.blogspot.com/2007/07/satanism-and-ritual-abuse-case-by-case.html “Entire families have been implicated in the ritual abuse of children which proves the fact that generational Satanism exists. See Parker (1995) Figured/Hill (1994) and Gallup (1991) Perpetrators have been found to be professionals who work in law enforcement, the military or daycare, and Christian fronts have been used in some instances as a means of hiding the satanic motivation of the perpetrators. See Cannaday (1994) Wright (1992) Gallup (1991) and Orr (1984). In several cases the perpetrators have confessed to the satanic element of the crime or participation in prior satanic offenses. – See Helms (2006) Cala (2003) Smith (2003) Delaney (2002) Morris (2001) South (2000) Page (2000) T. Bottoms, Shaver and Goodman in their 1993 study to evaluate ritual abuse claims found that in 2,292 alleged ritual abuse cases, 15% of the perpetrators in adult cases and 30% of the perpetrators in child cases confessed to the abuse. http://www.survivorship.org/faq.html Frequently Asked Questions about Ritual Abuse and Mind Control

On Page 170 (first edition), of Cult and Ritual Abuse – Noblitt and Perskin(Praeger, 1995), (there is a more recent edition of this book out, with a chapter on empirical evidence about ritual abuse) it states, “One of the best sources of evaluative research on ritual abuse is the article “Ritual Abuse: A Review of Research” by Kathleen Coulborn Faller (1994)….in a survey of 2,709 members of the American Psychological Association, it was found that 30 percent of these professionals had seen cases of ritual or religion-related abuse (Bottoms, Shaver & Goodman, 1991). Of those psychologists who have seen cases of ritual abuse, 93 percent believed that the reported harm took place and 93 percent believed that the alleged ritualism occurred. This is a remarkable finding. Mental health professionals are known to be divergent in their thinking and frequently do not agree with one another regarding questions of the diagnosis and etiology of psychiatric problems…this level of concurrence in a large national sample of psychologists…would be impressive….the similar research of Nancy Perry (1992) which further supports (the previous findings)…Perry also conducted a national survey of therapists who work with clients with dissociative disorders and she found that 88 percent of the 1,185 respondents indicated “belief in ritual abuse, involving mind control and programming” (p. 3).”

Noblitt and Perskin’s book also includes 5 pages (pgs. 100 – 104 – (first edition) on the possible connections between the Masons and ritual abuse. “(Margaret) Smith and many survivors…have described elements of Gnostic thinking in this kind of cult. Many patients…have explicitly reported abuse where Masonic regalia, ceremonies, or members were present.” (pg 101) The authors do not want to single Freemasonry as responsible for ritual acts of violence, but believe it may be true.” Greenwood Publishing Group, 88 Post Road West, Box 5007, Westport, CT 06881, 1-800-225-5800, www.greenwood.com, bookinfo@greenwood.com ISBN 0-275-96665-8.

Cult and Ritual Abuse – Its History, Anthropology, and Recent Discovery in Contemporary America (Revised Edition) by Noblitt and Perskin, contains new and updated chapters. A new chapter called “Empirical Evidence of Ritual Abuse” contains a variety of research studies and data. “Dr. Colin Ross…recently lamented that, at “present there is not a single published clinical research study of Satanic ritual abuse involving a comparison group and statistical analysis” (1995, p. 197). This observation was incorrect at the time it was published and is still incorrect.” p. 55 “A number of authors…have argued that ritual abuse allegations are essentially false and the result of suggestibility and social influence. However, this hypothesis appears to be derived from subjective opinion and speculation rather than any research findings. It has never been shown that people who report ritual abuse are particularly suggestible.

A web site with many legal and related cases of ritual abuse is at : http://www.newsmakingnews.com/karencuriojonesarchive.htm This is another example that shows that ritual abuse definitely does exist.

An Empirical Look at the Ritual Abuse Controversy – James Randall Noblitt, Ph.D. “Michael Newton (cited in Noblitt, 1998a) accumulated data on criminal convictions in the U.S. where allegations of ritual abuse of children were made. He found cases of 145 defendants who were sentenced.” ” Pamela Hudson (1991) assessed 24 children in a case of alleged ritual abuse at Fort Bragg day care center in California. Hudson found five symptoms to be present among many of the children.” “Susan Kelley (1993) compared three groups of children in day care: 35 allegedly ritualistically abused children, 32 children reportedly sexually, not ritualistically abuse, and 67 children without any claims of sexual abuse. She collected data from the abused children’s parents and compared the results of the children with non-ritualistic sexual abuse with ritualistic sexual abuse. She found that ritualistically abused children were more likely to report more incidents, types and severity of abuse relative to the non-ritual sexual abuse victims. She also found that ritualistic abuse was more often associated with multiple victim, multiple perpetrator situations.” “”Jill Waterman, Robert Kelley, Mary Kay Olivieri, and Jane McCord (1993) did a six year longitudinal study of 82 children who had made allegations of ritualistic sexual abuse (RSA) in the Manhattan Beach, California area in comparison with 37 non-abused (NA) children and 15 non-ritualistically sexually abused (SA) children. A variety of standardized and non-standardized questionnaires and interview instruments were employed. They found that both the RSA and SA group reported intrusive and highly intrusive sexual abuse. Additionally the RSA group but not the SA group reported “terrorizing acts…”

Multiple Personality Disorder and Satanic Ritual Abuse: the Issue Of Credibility Susan C. Van Benschoten, R.N., M.Ed., M.A. “Day care ritual abuse accounts usually implicate multiple non-familial perpetrators and multiple victims. Female perpetrators are nearly always reported. Characteristically, very young children and children of both sexes are said to be involved. Extreme forms of coercion and intimidation are typically reported, including threats of death and demonstrations that perpetrators possess magical powers. Extended, severe, and bizarre types of sexual abuse are frequently described, including penetration with objects, and forced sex between children and between children and adults. Physical and emotional abuse are reported as well, for example threats with weapons and the use of various forms of bondage. Children’s disclosures often cite pornography and drug use as components of the abuse. Many reports allege cruelly to animals, or the mutilation and sacrifice of animals or human beings. Practices linked to satanism are often reported. Children frequently describe chanting or singing, the presence of symbols, costumes, masks, candles, and the ceremonial use of blood, urine, and feces. Finkelhor- et al. (1988) found the ritualistic cases in their national study of substantiated day care sexual abuse to be the ones “whose allegations seemed to most strain public and professional credulity. . (and) in which the children appeared to have suffered the most serious and lasting kind of damage ” (p. 32). This impression is supported by the work of Kelley (in press).” http://www.empty-memories.nl/dis_90/vanbenschoten_sra.pdf

Satanic abuse no myth, say experts By Sophie Goodchild, Home Affairs Correspondent 4/30/00 “A specially commissioned government report will this week conclude that satanic abuse does take place in Britain. It will say that its victims have suffered actual abuse and are not suffering from “false memory syndrome”. http://www.independent.co.uk/

My own story

I am a survivor of ritual abuse and mind control also. I have had memories of alleged cult abuse in Masonic/Illuminati settings, government sponsored settings including laboratory situations and field experiences. My story is on the web in a variety of places, including

http://members.aol.com/smartnews/nb01.html http://members.aol.com/smartnews/Sample-Issue-34.htm http://members.aol.com/smartnews/Sample-Issue-01.htm http://members.aol.com/smartnews/Sample-Issue-02.htm http://members.aol.com/smartnews/page3/Sample-Issue-04.htm

My story adds to the growing accounts of anecdotal data, evidence, that ritual abuse and mind control exists.

4) Ways survivors can be helped and survivor efforts to heal and stop mind control and ritual abuse.

There are a variety of advocacy efforts going on right now to inform the general public about mind control and ritual abuse. These advocacy efforts include education, letters to the editor, web sites with more information about these topics and helping survivors with e-list groups, resource lists and support information. Much of these advocacy efforts go into fighting the disinfo about the topics of ritual abuse and mind control. Previously, people were fighting the movie “Capturing the Friedmans,” which in essence is a story about an alleged pedophile ring. So much data was left out of the movie, that the movie questions the convictions. However if you look at the data surrounding the case, including a third defendant not mentioned, the convictions appear much more just. Please e-mail me if you want more information on this.
